In 2021, Rone’s site specific installation transformed Geelong Gallery in response to the architecture and history of the building, and the Gallery’s collection. The Rone in Geelong catalogue includes a curatorial essay, visual documentation of the unique Geelong Gallery installation, insights to the making of the installation and the accompanying musical score, and an illustrated checklist of Rone’s exhibited works and reference works from the Geelong Gallery collection.
The design of the catalogue takes direct reference from the light and dark themes of the exhibition using black and white to break up each section. A strong horizontal line is used in essay and survey work sections which provides an industrial aesthetic inspired by Rone’s origins as a street artist. Full-page spreads with side-by-side views of finished pieces and works in progress offer a clear glimpse into the effort and craftsmanship behind Rone’s site-specific installations.
